My Gr-gr-great grandmother was Nancy Fetterley b. May 7, 1816; christened June 3, 1816 in Williamsburg, Dundas, Ontario, Canada. Her father was supposedly Philip Fetterley her mother Sarah. Nancy married Banns Lewis Becker of Williamsburgh, June 28, 1836 with David Fetterly and Josiah L. Campbell listed as Evidences. (Information taken from the Extracted marriage record for: Eastern District, Eastern District County, Ontario.) Do you know of this Nancy?
Nancy and Lewis appear again in Mason City, Iowa, but as Lou and Nancy Schermerhorn in 1880 Census for Cerro Gordo County, Iowa. I am almost positive this is the Nancy and Lewis Becker afore mentioned. Nancy's age is 63 and she indicates she is born in Canada with both parents being born in New York. Lewis is 66 in 1880 and indicates he was born in New York and both of his parents were born in New York.
Their son Herbert appears there with his young family, wife Alice and child Herbert Jr.
Herbert and Alice later move to California and spend the rest of their lives as Beckers with their children all being raised as Beckers. It is quite a mystery--any info would be helpful.
However, my main reason for writing is the Nancy Fetterley query. Sorry I got side-tracked!
