D. Rice,

I have been unable to find any John Quincy Fessenden b. in MA in 1839 in my MA VR CD (through 1850) using 9-12 of the different variations of the name. Who knows if they "massacred" the spelling in some other way?

I suggest that you consult the Fessenden Family in America genealogy. Most Fessenden researchers use that as a vital tool to help them. I only have copied the excerpts in my direct line (of which John in 1839 is not one).

Let me know if I can be of more help if you find more information. Were the children you refer to born in MA or some other state?

Tom Flood
