Evelyn Morton --- We need to share information. I am hoping you are still posting to this and other geneology sites. I am directly descended from John Martin Fesperman and Mary Ann Morton. John's son, Thomas Lee Fesperman, married Sarah Hamilton. They had four daughters: Evie, Josephine (Josie), Jennie, and Addie Minnie Lee Fesperman. Addie married Tyree Glenn Smith and they had four children: Jack, Cecil, Selina, and Pete.
Grandma(Mary Ann)Morton used to feed all four girls cornbread and milk when they would come to the creek near her house and holler out "Grandma Morton, Grandma Morton, cornbread and milk!"
Addie's daughter,Selina, married John Russell Ferriter and had two children:
Margaret Ellen and John Tyree Ferriter. Margaret (Maggie) is my mother. My mother and I both live in Charlotte and are planning several trips to Albemarle to learn more.
I am looking for John Martin's burial site. One interesting bit of family folklore is that Selina was always told by her aunt Josie Fesperman not to forget that some of her people came to Albemarle in a covered wagon from Indiana. I have read that Frederick (?) migrated to Indiana. I am wondering if others migrated there and then returned. Selina seems to think that some went to Indiana and then returned to Albemarle. We are trying to find out if Sarah Hamilton's family came from Indiana.
Please respond if you get this.
