Shirley, If you will send me an email direct, I will attach the Ferstl Coat of Arms for you... I realize you spell your name Ferst but my contention may be that because everyone has to fight and argue with those who put the vowel e betweel the t and l or at the end of the name, they just quit using the l?

I can't really help you out but I do know where my familiy originated. It was Regensburg, Bavaria and goes back to about the year 400.. I actually quit looking at the name many years ago and have turned to my other arm of tree which is Roper, also germanic in origin..

Ferstl in the Munich Phone Directory numbers in the hundreds if not thousands. It is not an uncommon name.

The Ferstl's with the e on the end of their name came from Vienna. Heinrich Von Ferstle was a well know architect and quite young. He designed the Viltekirche which started an evolution of two steeple churches. He also designed the 'ring' around Weim in Vienna.
