While researching my family surname of Mote, I saw a notation on a journal of Benjamin Ferris who recorded the death of a William Mote. William Mote died in NC during Revolutionary War (1776-1783). Do you have any info that would indicate the Benjamin who was a brother of Seneca migrated to the southern colonies and might be this Benjamin who kept this journal?
