I am looking for my great grandfather. Wiley or Wylie Ferris. born: about 1864, location:??, found him in Chicago 1880-81. Only thing that we know of his parents is that his mother was a full blooded Indian. He was with several traveling circus's before and after the turn of the century. He had a farm in Dutch Gap, Virgina, that he used as a Winter quarter. He lived there until he died in 1938. He had a son, also named Wiley Ferris, who was born in Chicago in 1893. His wife, Alice Irene (Cummings) born 1895 Chicago. they moved to Los Angeles, California in 1917, where he worked as a motorman on the old Red Cars in L.A.
Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.
