My great-grandmother was a Hanora Ferris, who married a Phillip McCarthy. I believe both were from Barow-Ardfert, Kerry.

I also had a great uncle's Martin Ferris and William Ferris, a great aunt Julia Ferris Dempsey. I believe that their father was a James or John Ferris and mother Julia. All lived in Toledo, Ohio after coming over from Ireland.
