Douglas - Ferris Marriage
This weekend we were given a box of old newspaper clippings and amongst them was this one.This does not seem to apply to our family (at least not yet) and I have no further information than what is given here.
Douglas – Ferris (hand written Oct. 14, 1946)
The marriage of Eleanor Pauline, daughter of Mrs. Ferris and the late J.B. Ferris, to Mr. John Fraser Ross Douglas, son of the late Mr. & Mrs. J.H. Douglas, all of Campbellford (Ontario, Canada), took place in Campbellford with Rev. G.N. Maxwell officiating.Mr. J.M. Ferris gave his sister in marriage and she wore a pretty frock of powder blue crepe, carrying pink roses. Mrs. G. McLean, her matron of honor, chose nave blue crepe, with red roses.The groomsman was Mr. James Heptonstall of Ottawa. After the reception at the home of the bride’s mother, the couple left on a motor trip, and will live in Campbellford on their return.
