I'm brand new to the Ferris family forum as of tonight. I'm still speculating, in fact, that I belong here. Tell me what you think.
My five-greats grandfather, Asaph King, was married to a woman named Deborah. In his will, which I just located this Friday, he names "my well beloved friend and brother, Benjamin S. Ferris," an executor of his will. (His wife, Deborah, was the other executor.) Since Asaph's real brothers would have been named "King," I take Benjamin to be a brother-in-law, Deborah's brother.
I have long suspected Asaph came from Connecticut, and I have learned tonight that the Ferris family did, too. I discovered there are plenty of Deborah and Benjamin Ferris' (recorded in other web sites) coming from the Stamford, Fairfield, Connecticut area.
Asaph was born abt. Feb. 16, 1772. He died in Covert, Seneca Co., New York at the age of 34, on Jan. 5, 1806. I have lots to share on their descendants.
I'm hoping you can help me track this down and that I can become a member of the Ferris family, too.
Sincerely,
Mike Tunison
