Ken, I can't help you with the Gibboney connection, sorry. The Bible find is interesting!
But I do have two other questions for you:
1.Would you mind posting the names and dates for the children of John (b. 1812) and Anna?I did not have them in my database and would like to include them.(I had John, but not his wife, and not children.)
2.Is your Shaeffer branch connected to / through John W. Shaeffer, born abt 1821 in PA, and died after 1900 in Sterling, Whiteside, Illinois?I found an old newpaper article (several, actually) detailing JW's trip to Lancaster for the Ferree-LeFevre reunion in 1896, and I have been trying to figure out how he is connected. He named one of his children Ferree, too.He was married to "Eliza G." and I got excited at first by your posting, thinking that perhaps the G stood for Gibboney. But you are talking about an older John. There are too many John Shaeffer's (not to mention others with alternate spellings) and I haven't been able to figure out his line of descent.
In the meantime, as I search Schaeffer docs, I'll keep an eye out for Gibbony.Maybe by working at it from two different directions, we might come across some information that would help the other.
