Where do I begin?

Does anyone have any suggestions where I start to begin to trace my family tree? I know nothing about this but for some reason suddenly I want to know more. My grandfather's name was Rocco Ferrara who I never knew. He came over from Sicily with my grandmother Mary Ferrara who I bearly remember. They both moved to Tampa, FL (Ybor City to be exact) Any first time beginner suggestions would be appreciated.
