Hi Marta
Sorry for the delay in responding to your posting. I seem to have been in hibernation for the last few weeks!
This time it is my turn to find another part of my family. My ggg grandfather John Fernyhough was the brother of Dorothy and Mary. By the way, I thought Dorothy married Walter Hollis. My John Fernyhough also married in Hanbury, but at the time was calling himselp Fearney. His will gave me the clue as it said John Fernyhough also known as John Ferney. The family came from the neighbouring parish of Marchington and were the children of Edward and Mary:
Catherine bp 29 Jun 1745
Thomasbp 28 Dec 1747
Ellenbp 25 Jul 1750
Dorothybp 9 Aug 1752
Marybp 6 Oct 1754
Edwardbp 27 Jun 1757
Johnbp 16 Aug 1759married Mary Oakden 2 Dec 1782
Josephbp 14 Jan 1762
I have not been able to prove where Edward came from, but there are several possibles.
I would be interested in the Hollis family as some other of my relations married people called Hollis in the same sort of area. Many of my relations both paternal and maternal came from within 10 miles of Hanbury. I was born in Derbyshire just over 10 miles away! But now I live in St.Albans, 25 miles north of London.
I shall look forward to hearing from you.
