Hi cousins
Have recently returned to my family tree research and attacking the Fernyhough line with a vengeance as have just moved to Staffordshire so should have access to local records.
I see there are several Australian correspondents / cousins so wonder if anyone can help with a query on emigration to Australia of "Lucy" Fernyhough from Silverdale/Knutton Staffs.
According to my mother in law Millicent Vera Salt, nee Fernyhough) Lucy emigrated to Australia.
This may have been either her aunt :
Margaret Lucy Fernyhough (daughter of John Fernyhough / Annie Simpson, born 1876 Silverdale Staffs, married 1899 Wolstanton Stafs to Ernest Harding. If she did emigrate must have been after her 1899 marriage.
or (less likely) her sister:
Lucy Fernyhough (daughter of John Fernyhough / Leah Mellor, born 19/11/1893 Silverdale, Staffs, married 27/04/1924 St Luke, Silverdale to Albert Boulton. They have at least one child - Roy Boulton. Again if they emigrated must be after 1924.
Reason mother-in-law was not clear was that she was the youngest of her family by years - sister Lucy was 23 years older so her background family knowledge was a bit iffy. She just said, during one of my 'family tree interrogation sessions' that Lucy had gone to Australia.
So if anyone knows of a Lucy Fernyhough in Australia could be one of these.
