thank you Barbara for your help to date, I can Now add a little more to the info you gave me on my side of the family.

I now have the birth cert of Josiah b. 6th March 1853
parents William Fernyhough and Lydia Fernyhough formerly Willett.
In the 1881 census I have found these 2 living in Fegg Heyes ages 62 and 60 William AS a retired publican born in Cheddleton. At the time of Josiah birth he was a Farmer but not known where. Incidently Fernihough was spelled Ferneough. There is some evidence to suggest that Williams Father was a Thomas Fernihough married to a Francis? Th omas born in Cheddleton too! BUT THIS IS NOT CONFIRMED YET. Does this look familiar to you Barbara or indeed anybody else.There does seem strong links with Fernihoughs at Dilhorne, Onecote, and Ipstones through family tales etc.
