My mother recently passed away, and among her things I found some papers about Annie Laurie. She had written that Anna had several children, one Alexander, but I'm not sure. I know that Anna's son had a son by his first marriage and his son was Alexander.
Now, we have a John A. Ferguson in our line, and his father was Matthew. Matthew married Mary Kerr and they went from Scotland to Ireland and came to Canada in 1818 and settled in New Brunswick. I went to the archives in Ottawa and looked at the records there. The ship "Sophia" went to Montreal first and onward perhaps to Saint John, N.B. where they were and later St. Martin's, N.B. They are buried there. I saw the name Alex, Mary among others but didn't come across Matthew however I might have missed it. It was on microfilm and hard to understand a lot of the words. Do you have any history and information of Alexander and Anna's children and as to the children of James to his 2nd wife of Robert's children?
Anna died at the home of her grandson Robert Riddell. His mother and father was Jean Ferguson who married a Robert Riddell.
