This is really strange. My Ferguson line lived in Obion and Weakley Counties TN and I had an uncle by the name of Thomas and an aunt Ana. The dates however are all wrong. These two, amoung (we think) 12 children all were born around the turn of the century. Other names were John Thrumond (my father) Bertha, Walter, Lola, Richard. there is probably some connection although I would have no idea what. My grandfather was Leander and he married Betty Smith in South Fulton TN which is in Weakley County. It could have been in Obion County since the lines are very close to South Fulton and Fulton KY. (really one town however split by the state line). Leander's father was William Isaac who originally moved to KY from northern North Carolina. If I go back far enough my ancestor who came from Scotland was William Ferguson, a Jacobite Rebel who was captured in 1715 and sent to Virginia in 1716 as a bond servent (this is because he was given the choise of this and hanging). there was a series of moves to the border of Virginia and North Carolina and then eventually to South Western Kentucky and North Western Tennessee. You will find a lot of Fergusons all along the VA, NC and KY, TN borders including the only Confederate Officer (Champ Ferguson) that was tried and hung for war crimes against the North. Oh well, thats the problem with family trees, you usually find someone hanging on it. Probably all of the Fergusons along these borders are related in some way. I am sure there is some connection and if I can be of any help let me know. Other names were William A, John B, and Ardie. I think William that was a Jacobite Rebel was originally from Ardie Lenark, Scotland but that is my stone wall and I feel that to trace anymore I must go to Scotland.
Good Luck, John Ferguson You can reach me on the web at jferguson@aaaky.aaa.com
