From "Cavaliers and Pioneers" Edward Booker, gent, of Henrico County, patented 1000 acres new land in Prince George County on the lower side of Flatt Creek adj Farguson's line 31 July 1732.
Richard Booker, gent of James City County, patented 970 acres in Prince George County (new land) between Knibb's Creek and Flatt Creek adj. John Ferguson, Sam'l Cobbs, Jn. Combs, Edw'd Booker, John Anderson, and Field Jefferson. [This is present-dau Amelia County...jeb]

John Farguson of Prince George County, [patented] 400 acres of new land in said county on upper side of Flatt Creek below the Lower Tommahawke Br.; 20 June 1733, page 46, Patent #Book #15. [In 1734 Amelia County was taken from lands formerly in Prince George County and Brunswick County Virginia.]

Amelia County DB 1. November 11, 1736. Lease Jn. Ferguson to George Williamson of Isle of Wight County [Va.] 400 acres upper side Flatt Crk by Lower Tomahawk Branch, being same land patented to said Ferguson on Sept 28, 1732. Elizabeth, his wife relinquished dower rights.
Deed Nov. 12, 1736. Robert Ferguson to John Ferguson's own corner on Flatt Creek and mouth of Cabin Branch, a patent to Robert Ferguson on Sept. 28, 1732. Mary, wife of Robert, relinquished Dower rights.

June 8, 1738: George Williamson of Goochland to Robert Ferguson, Sr. lease. John Ferguson witness. 400 acres u/s Flatt Creek being patent to John Ferguson Sept. 28, 1732.

Court Order book 1. 1735: John Ferguson, surveyor of the road from Flatt Creek and down Anderson's road. Lewis Tanner ordered to clear road from the bridge below Mrs. Anderson's quarter to Buckskin (Creek)

John Fargusson [patented] 780 acres in Amelia County on the head branches of Evans's Cr. of Bush River, by a spring adj. Randolph; 30 July 1742, page 111 PB #21. [380 acs. part included in Henry Anderson's 1202 acs. in PB 28, page 160 and 400 acs. other part included in Thomas Watkins Junr. 1200 acs. in PB 28, page 225.]

Amelia county Deed Book 2: John and Elizabeth Ferguson to Thomas Watkins of Henrico County 1745. Wit: Stephen Watkins, John Clement, and John Watkins. 400 acres on brs. of Bush River.

January 15, 1745/6 Robert and Mary Ferguson to Thomas Pettus of New Kent county, 300 acres lower side Flatt Creek by Cabin Br. mouth, John Ferguson's line.

John and Elizabeth Ferguson "of Raleigh Parish" sold to Henry Anderson June 17, 1747, 380 acres on head of branches of Evans Creek of Bush River adj. Randolph's line, part of 780 acres patent to John Ferguson n 1742. wits: Ths. Farrar, Benjamin Ward, John Booker.
page 316. Robert Ferguson patented 840 acres Prince George County on upper side of the Oldfield Br. of Butterwood Swmp in a valley adj. Coleman, Wyatt, Woodlief, Mills, Robert West, Poytheross, FitzGerald and Anne Andrews 20 August 1747. 400 acres formerly granted Ferguhard Grant 1744/45 who sold to Ferguson and 440 residue never before granted. [Virginia Atlas and Gazetteer by DeLorme Mapping Co. page 47, C-D, 7 shows that that grant was in present-day Dinwiddie County.]
August 21, 1750 John Ferguson of Raleigh Parish, Amelia County bought 400 acres on Flatt Creek or near it from Field Jefferson of Cumberland County, adj. Samuel Cobbs, Boram's and Thompson's and John Booker. In 1752 Thomas Tabb sold this same property to George Elliott, together with all houses, but a deed to Thomas and Elizabeth Tabb was not found by this researcher. In 1753 when Elliott sold it, the deed said Ferguson had conveyed it to Tabb.

Amelia County Will Book 2, 1771-1780 by Gibson Jefferson McConnaughey: WB2/328:
Will of John Ferguson of Raleigh Parish. Written November 4, 1778. No date given for probate. Witness: Richard Borum, John Booker, Jr. and Thomas (X) Self. Ex. Abraham Estis and Ambrose Hutchason. Leg: 1.To Daug. Ann Thompson, slaves for life then at her death to go to her child or chldren.
2. To daughter Lucy Hutchason, slaves, with same details.
3. Daughter Kesia Estis, slaves, and at her death to my g'dau. Lucy Estis, Betty Ward Estis, Rachel Estis, Jemima Estis.
4. To daughter Mary Farmer, slaves, and at her death, to grandsons John Farmer, "her other children, except her son Charles Farmer." Later Charles Farmer is given a specific slave named Lenn.
5. To son Henry Ferguson, slaves.
6. To son Richard Ferguson, all my land in Prince Edward County, Va. for life, then to be equally div. betw. his son Miles Ferguson and son John Ferguson: also lend said son Richard slaves, and at his death to go to his son Ward Ferguson, and other slaves to be equally div. betw. his 3 sons Ward, Miles, and John Ferguson.
"Should my son Richard bring suit for any part of the est. willed to any of my other children or grandchildren, in this will, then my Exec. shall take possession of that part of est. lent to him, and out of it maintain his 3 sons and deliver the part allotted as above mentioned to them as they become 21.
7. To Grandson Ward Ferguson, 100 acres land beginning at mouth of Cabbin Branch, then up Flat Creek to line on land where I now live, along that line to Cabbin Branch, down Cabbin Branch to beginning, it being land whereon my son Richard lately lived.
8. To my brother William Ferguson, slave, for life, then to my grandson Absolom Farmer.
9. To Grandson John Hutchason, 1/2 land whereon I now live adj. land of John Booker, Jr.; other half to grandson Absolom Farmer.
10. ....intended for my deceased son Robert Ferguson.......
11. Grandson Billy Hutchason, slave.
Remainder of est. to be eq. div. among all my children before mentioned. Request some three justices of this county court to see that same is fairly and equally div. by lot, as I desire my estate not to be appraised.
