I FRANCIS FERGUSON of the County of Loudoun in the Colony of Virginia Farmer being weak of Body but of perfect mind & memory thanks be given to God for the same & calling to mind the Mortality of my body and that it is appointed for all men once to die I therefore Recommend my Soul to Him who gave it and Do order this my last will and Testament in manner and form as followeth.
1st Imprimis I will that all my Just Debts & funeral charges be paid & discharged by my Exrs. hereafter.
2nd Item. I give and bequeath unto my loving wife ANN FERGUSON one third part of my Estate Rail and parsanal during her widowhood and if my widow should join in marriage with another man for her to deliver of my Real Estate her third to be Devided among my children in manner and form as followeth.
3rd Item. to my Daughter JANE FERGUSON One sixth part of my Estate after my Widow has her Dower.
Item 4th. I give and bequeath to my Daughter SARAH FERGUSON One Seventh part of my Estate after Devided as afforsaid.
5th Item. I give and bequath to my Son SAMUEL FERGUSON one fifth part of my Estate after my Widow Dower as aforesaid And be put to a trade when fit.
6th Item I give and bequath unto my Son ABNER FERGUSON with schooling fit for his trade One seventh part of my Estate as afforsaid with Schooling as much as is convenient And Schooling in his prentaship to fit him for his Trade.
Item 7th. I give and bequath to my Daughter RUTH FERGUSON one Seventh part of my Estate with Schooling to be learn'd to Read and write legiblely.
8th Item. I give and bequath unto my son ELIJAH FERGUSON One sixth part of my Estate after my Widows Dower as afforsaid with schooling as much as convenient and when put to a trade so as to fit him for his Business.
9th Item. I alson constitute nominate and appoint my loving Wife ANN FERGUSON, NATHAN LACOCK & JOHN POLTON to be my whole and sole Exrs. of this my last Will and Testament and do hereby revoke... In witness whereof I have herunto set my hand sand Seal this 25th day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty and one.

In the presents of us NATHAN LACOCK, JAMES DILLON, WILLIAM PATTEN, JEAN A LACOCK


At a Court held for Loudoun County the 14th day of Feby 1782
This Will was proved by the Oath of Jean Lacock & affirmation of James Dillon (a Quaker) two of the Subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded And on the motion of Ann Ferguson and Nathan Lacock two of the Exrs. therein named (John Polton the other Exr. refusing to Qualify) who made Oath according to Law Certificate is granted them for obtaining a probate thereof in due form they giving Security.
Whereupon the said Ann and Nathan together with WILLM. NEILSON & JOHN WARFORD their Security entered into and acknowledged their Bond in the penalty of One thousand pounds Conditioned as the Law directs.
