On Gragston Creek in Wayne County, there is a place identified as a “Horse Farm.” On this “Horse Farm” there is a cemetery where John FERGUSON, Jr. was buried. His dates are given as b. 23 March 1793 and died 25 December 1864. The cemetery inscription book by Renie and Mary Talbert says there are 25 “unmarked” graves in this cemetery. They must have been marked (thus the count), but “unidentified.” Tombstone inscriptions were found for the surnames: FERGUSON, McKEE, PHILLIPS, and WILSON.
The most recent burial with dates were for Vicie Jane PHILLIPS 5/2/1881 – 1/6/1951.
Usually a caretaker or someone keeps a list of who is buried in a cemetery. I would very much like to contact someone who has a list or personal knowledge of persons who were buried in these unidentified graves.
