HUGHES Marion Alice (nee Ferguson) Long-time New Westminster resident, Marion Hughes, passed away in her sleep in the early hours of Saturday, January 26, 2008. Marion was born March 14, 1925 in Kerrisdale, Vancouver, and was raised on the family farm on Fairfield Island, Chilliwack. She was the youngest of Richard and Marion Ferguson's five children. Marion met her life's partner, Eric Charles Hughes, while at U.B.C. and they were married August 24, 1949. Marion and Eric moved to New Westminster in 1951, where they began and raised their busy family of four children. Marion is survived by Eric, her husband of 58 years, and their daughters Gwyn (Rod) MacFarlane, Jeanne (Ken) Bateman, sons Richard (Debbie) Hughes and Alan (Nicky) Hughes. Marion was Nana to nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Columbia Bowell Chapel, 219-6th Street, New Westminster. In lieu of flowers, donations to Zion Park Manor. Columbia-Bowell Chapel 604-521-4881
