John Fergus, Merchant, native of Glasgow.
If you have any information about the background of this person, please let me know. We would like to be able to tell more of his story. His tomb is found on Wareham's Lane in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Fergus Island is named after John Fergus. He and his family onlylived in the community for about 20 years; yet two permanent memorials to him remain - his tomb and Fergus Island.Photos of his Tomb can be found on Flickr.

"Sacred to the memory of Isabella Fergus, native of Glasgow, Wife of William Donnelly, Merchant, who died 19th June 1843, aged 36 Years."
