cynthia,
i have to be a dec. of samuel and mary's on my mother's side - you are the only connection to an illinois fergus i can find... my family has a good handful of photos, also. i have at least one w/poss sam & mary and first few children born.
my mother: leila elizabeth gundberg, b. 1936, illinois, m. donald mongan in 1957 (only sibling - brother donald, d. 1956-7)
her mother: florence kruger (early spelling
"krueger"), b. 1912, ill., m. okie gundberg about 1930 (only sibling - sister laverne, m. joseph bartuska, 1920?, ill.)
her mother: elizabeth fergus, b. 1880's-90's, m. herman kruger (krueger) around 1910? in ill. (many siblings, know there was a tom "newt", john, edward, ???)
prior: ???, - samuel & mary?
florence was raised in chicago area, as i believe elizabeth was also.
