There are Ferdinands in a French database had by benoit.maury@libertysurf.fr. Check it out. There were also Spanish Ferdinands so it seems that it's a universal name of the Ferdinands travelled a lot. Of course there was Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand of Spain.
