I wonder if anyone has any view on whether Ferdinando is a Sephardic name? This has been noted from the childrens names from early 1700s onwards for the first 2/3 generations. Other people have said they believed it to be Sephardic but have not given specific reasons why this should be apart from it is a Portuguese or Spanish name and they arrived in the UK after the readmission of 1656. Does anyone have anything a little more "concrete" to go on? Thanks David
