Dear Darci,Okay. I've looked at my Family Tree and you are indeed a cousin of mine!!I'd like to have a little more information from you, too.Your grandmother, Sylvia Catherine Fentress born 8/5/1910 was the daughter of Arthur Peay Fentress (who was her mother??)born about 1876. He was the son of Charles Fentress b. 1844 in Ky. D. 10/11/1835 in Muhlenberg County (my county) and Sarah J Batsel b. 1846 abd d. 9/14/1843.Charles was the son of Lancaster D. Fentress (brother of my great-great grandmother, Malvina Ann Fentress McCown) and his wife Mary Ann Finley (your spelling Findley).Lancaster born abt. 1806 in South Carrollton, Ky. and died 2/1872. Married 10/26/1839 in Shepherdsville, Bullitt Co, Ky to Mary Ann Finley b. 1811 in Jefferson Co. (Louisville area) and died abt 1880.Lancaster D was the son of John Fentress born 6/1/1781 Albermarle Co, Va., married 4/13/1805 in Nelson Co., Ky (Bardstown)to Elinor (Nellie or Ellin as a nickname) born 10/3/1788 in Nelson Co, Ky. They moved to Ohio County, Ky. right across the river from what is now South Carrollton. John bought the ferry and 35,000 acres from a Randolph about 1813. He and Nellie built their house on the bluff in South Carrollton right above the road down to the ferry (which still exists). John's in-laws, John Dozer and Elizabeth Lancaster had land across the river in Ohio County.Elinor died 8/4/1843 in South Carrollton (which was incorporated in 1838-9) and John 1/24/1860. Both graves are not far from my house, which is the last 900 acres of the original 35,000 acres that John bought. My house was built by John and Elinor's granddaughter and husband, Andrew Glenn Ferguson and Mary Ellen McCown Ferguson (she being the daughter of Malvina Fentress McCown (Lewis), John's daughter and brother of your Lancaster D.My uncle, Jo Ferguson, has done extensive research of our family which I have added to over several years. Please write to me at P O Box 135, South Carrollton, Ky. 42374.I will be glad to give you much more about John and Elinor. You are a part of a fine family and I am privileged to have met several "long-lost" cousins over the internet. Some I have met in person - awesome!!!Anyone else kin to us, please let me know. It's just great putting together the puzzle pieces to our great family. South Carrollton was once a great crossroads for steamboats and wagons, now just a tiny dot on the map. However, anyone interested in the graves of John and Elinor Fentress, contact me, because the little cemetery is now kept clean and mowed, right alone the U.S. Hwy 431 N in South Carrollton, Ky.Let me hear from you, "Cousin" Molly
