Hi,
I am related to the Annie Fennell described in your posting. I have done a lot of research on the Fennells of Rathkeale, including Annie and her husband. I have located some of the same sources you referred to in your posting. Annie was my great grandfather's niece, the daughter of Maurice Fennell and his wife Maria (nee Moore). Maurice was a horse dealer, and a fair number of his descendants still live in and about Rathkeale. I managed to speak with my great aunt (born in 1918) about the various relatives she remembered from childhood, and she remembered the Keatings. She said they visited her parents often (they lived in White Plains and Mt. Kisco, New York at various times),and had no children. She recalled that they lived on Amsterdam Avenue in New York City (which is confirmed by the census records). She said Pat Keating had a limousine service and that he was very tall and handsome. Both Pat and his wife were very nice, and would not hesitate to pitch in even when they were guests.
For my part I can tell you that Annie arrived in the US on October 9, 1910, at age 16. Her passage was paid for by my great grandfather's sister, Mary Kenlon. Annie listed her occupation as dressmaker. The immigration record indicates she had brown eyes, fair hair and a fair complexion. I have some notes (don't know the source) indicating that Walter Keating was born in 1888, and came to the US in 1907.
If you would like more information about the Fennells, I would be happy to provide it. I would love to hear what else you may know about the Keatings. Were they from Rathkeale as well? I ask because I found a 1920 immigration record for another Patrick Keating who was from Rathkeale.
I look forward to hearing from you.
