I am thrilled to find this forum.
I am the gggdaughter of Thomas Fenn who lived for many years in Bedford Square and was a stockbroker and deputy grand master of Bushey lodge (freemasons).
I have quite a lot of info about my immediate connections, and know that Thomas had at least one brother, the author George Manville Fenn. I want to know about more of the family, and suspect there were several.
I contacted an Andrew today, who directed me to this site, but who was unaware of an Australian connection for George Manville but I note that this is mentioned in the message posted by Jody Fenn and Thomas Fenn. I can confirm that in the Museum of Childhood in Sydney GMF's books are kept and he is considered an Australian author. I discussed this with the curator and explained the London connection, but alas did not take the dates of his Australian residence.
My GGGf appointed his nephew, GMF's son Charles, born 1860 as his executor (in 1901)
I have census records for GMF and family, first as a printer and stationer (1861), later as editor of Cornhill magazine which probably leads nicely to being a published author. He was living in Lincolnshire at one time. His wife was Susanna (no maiden name alas) and there are at least two daughters, Alice and Anne. Any further information would be warmly welcomed!
