Fenn Family Genealogy Forum

Sorry for the (brief) delay in responding, but I'm here now. Unfortunately, my message is not what you were hoping to hear. William Aaron Fenn did have a son of the same name (note, in my original message his children are listed, along with most of their spouses). According to the census records for 1860 (Barbour County, AL), young William A. Fenn was 15, which means he would have been born ca. 1845. The 1870 census for Henry County, AL lists the same family, minus the elder W. A. Fenn, who had died in 1868. In that census, WAF, jr. is recorded as being 23, which works back to about 1847. Oddly enough, that census form didn't appear to have a slot for married/single/widow, etc. status -- but WAF doesn't seem to be married at that time. In any case, according to my supplemental data, WAF later married Ella Cotton (don't know timeframe), and had a son named William C. Fenn, who married Maggie Fortner. WCF and MF had 4 children: Mary Ellen, William C., Jr., Elizabeth, and Ann. And so it goes. Without looking into it closer, I'm pretty sure this is not your connection. But if you see one, I can pass along what other information I have. Meanwhile, I wish you luck. ScL
