Sheryl and Cheryl,

My great-great grandfather Heyward (Haywood) Fenderson was also born in NC in 1836 and his parents were from NC. He lived in AL in the late 1800's-his death. I don't have much info on the NC side, but do know some about the AL side. There are a bunch of Fendersons from Marengo Co. and I haven't figured out how I'm related to them. I'm definitely related to the Hale Co. Fendersons. My great-grandmother was Mattie Fenderson Posey. Her brothers were William, Henry and Alfred. Her sisters were Nancy (Nelson), Henrietta (Norfleet), Hannah (Grant), Sarah (Hatch) and Rose. If you think we might be related, I'd love to share more info. I've been visiting the national archives lately and have come across quite a bit. Some of the AL Fendersons were identified as Finlaysons in some of the censuses, just to confuse things!

Good luck and hope this helps
