You know , Anita, it strikes me as odd that so many people sign on to the Felts' Forum and never respond. In response to your inquiry about Humphery coming here from England, I can only offer you what I learned from the the Surry County Courthouse, along with the best authority on the area, the Rev. Norman Flythe. Norman exposed so many documents that are original from the Felts family starting in Surry. Humphery came from England on the ship of Capt. Thomas Busby. He was an indentured servant to Busby. An early tithable shows Humphery in Busby's home along with two other Englishmen. a Negro, and an Indian (native American). The rest is history. Humphery married Elener Francis and had a large family. I'm interested to know where Elener came from.
