Dear Carolyn, At a court held for the County of Southampton County, Virginia on the 18th day of January, 1821. A writing in these words to wit: In the name of God, amen, I, Reese Felts of the County of Southampton and state of Virginia, do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following. Item: First, it is my will and desire that all of my just debts, should be paid. Item: I give and bequeath to Miss Jenifer McLemore one hundred dollars to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my brother Lewis Felts, fifty dollars, to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath the balance of my estate to my brother Thomas' daughter Rebecca Jane to her and her heirs forever.
