A biography of Robert Felton is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, pages 711 & 712.
Robert Felton was born, 17 Mar 1890, fourth of seven children of Robert P. and Emmeline D. (Davenport) Felton, both natives of North Carolina. The father, Robert P., was raised and educated in NC, and graduated from Richmond College, Richmond, VA. He practiced his profession at Columbia, NC, where he remained until 1890 when he located to Choteau county, Montana, and took a squatter's right to a homestead in the Milk River Valley. Later he located to the Bearpaw Mountains on Clear Creek where he was engaged in cattle raising and farming.
Robert Felton was brought to Montana as a baby of less than one year. He attended schools in Choteau county and went into the livestock business at age 19. He was one of the organizers of the Morris Livestock Co. of which he was the manager until 1919 when the company was reorganized as the Bearpaw Livestock Co., of which he was also manager. The Bearpaw Company was comprised of four ranches, having 1200-1500 head of cattle and about 2500 head of sheep. One of their properties was the old Diamond Bar ranch famous in the old days of the cattle business in Montana.
On 18 Jun 1918, Robert Felton married Stella Solomon, born in Great Falls, MT, daughter of Wolf and Stella Solomon.
The 1930 Federal Census shows Robert and Stella, and children, Ruth, Charles E., John, and Nettie, living in Havre, Hill County, MT.

Stella P. Felton died, 22 Oct 1985, age 86, Carbon Co., MT
Robert P. Felton died, 18 Aug 1929, age 75, Hill Co., MT
Emmeline D. Felton died, 18 Dec 1933, age 71, Hill Co., MT
