FELTER in NY and NJ
Tunis Felter born about 1750/60 in New York.Said to have lived in NYC.He was in the 2nd NY Regiment and also in a New Jersey regiment. In the book by Barbara Hoskins, "Men of Morris County in the Revolution", he is said to have moved to Pompton township. Also in the book it gave details about his pension which his wife Rachel received after he died. However, going through pension applications, I found his file and it said his pension was refused because of
inadequate proof of service and his papers removed.I would love to find out how the author found the other details and would like to find any other descendants of Tunis and Rachel.According to another "cousin", they had about 15 children including:
Charity/Charlotte m. William Conklin (my 3rd great-grandparents)
Elizabeth m. Peter Conklin (lived in Passaic County)
