Fellows family of Staffordshire 1830s

My father is a Fellows born Burton on Trent in 1932 - previous generation working in the breweries, and in the last century publicans, barbers, canal boatmen and miners. I have traced the family back to a John Fellows, born 1832 in Penn Staffs, baptised 6.9.1832 in Sedgely. He married an Anne Bartlam (I think).

I believe his father was Benjamin Fellows, but there is some confusion on the censuses between Benjamin father and son (I think the census words may be wrong). Does anyone have any further information about this John Fellows?

Any further information anyone could point me towards about the early Fellows family origins would also be very interesting - I believe 2001 postings on this site suggest they might hail from the North West originally?

Any help appreciated, many thanks
