From all that I have seen, read, and heard, the Fellers family is Dutch German. From what I understand, the first of our family to come over to this country spoke, and wrote Dutch. I once asked a couple from the Netherlands if they had heard the name Gefellers back home, and they looked at each other, and both replied, "Oh, Ya! Ya!", and then they repeated it back to me, but I swear it sounded NOTHING like we say it. It was more like...Gef (hard G)- el- yers. I hope this helps.
