Although I am of a Fell family in Ontario and Robert (of the original posting) is of my direct family as well, we probably can't be of direct or complete help to you (Susan Nass isn't connected to the family at all as she was simply performing and act of 'genealogical kindness' in answering Robert's original posting.
HOWEVER - A bit of research turned up the following on Rootsweb.
On that site, there is quite a bit of information on one David Brown married to Catherine Fell (Catherine being his second wife). They were married January 21, 1819 and it is the David Brown born 23 October, 1789 that is the husband of Catherine; David Brown born 1757 in New York, being Catherine's father-in-law.
There is not a lot of information on the website about Catherine, except some anecdotal notes regarding her brother and nephew. There are, however a lot of sources listed that may lead to more information.
You need to go to http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/
Do a searchin the 'RootsWeb.com section for Catherine Fell
When the results come up click on the WorldConnect (150 matches)
Go to page 4 of the list that appears in the search results.Find Catherine Fell/David Brown - although there are several entries from several people, the one most useful seemed to be the one with fcmitchell in the DATABASE column.
The Ontario GenWeb project also has some marriage registrations posted online (can view microfilms) but I am not sure if the records go back that far - check it out though. If you can seek out this document, it should provide you with the names of Catherine's parents.
Hope this give you a start - other than this, I've nothing in my personal 'family history' that seems to be of any help to you.
Leslie
