Let me start with the first Jesse Fell, son of Thomas Fell, son of Benjamin, son of Joseph - the first Fell to emigrate from Cumberland, England to Pennsylvania, son of John. Jesse Fell who was b. 10/15/1774, d. 11/8/1854, son of Thomas. Jesse m. Rebecca Roman and had 9 children: Joshua R., Thomas, Jesse W., Mary F., Robert, Kersey H., Rebecca J., Vickers, and Phineas C.

Jesse W. Fell, b. 11/10/1808 in New Garden, Chester Co., PA, d. 2/25/1887 in Normal, Il, m. 1/26/1837 to Hester V. Brown, b. 3/2/1819, d. 6/12/1906, dau. of William Brown and Rachel Milner. In 1832 Jesse opened the first law office in Bloomington, IL., his family followed him from PA to IL circa 1835, 1857 main promoter to locate ISNU in Normal, IL, was an intimate friend and advisor of Abraham Lincoln and Judge David Davis, talked Abraham Lincoln into running for president, etc. Jesse W. Fell and Hester V. Brown had 8 children: Henry Clay, William Brown, Eliza Brown, Clara Vernon, Flora Maria, Alice Clark, Rachel Milner, and Fannie C.

Eliza Brown Fell, b. 9/6/1842, m. 6/17/1863 to William O. Davis, b. 8/5/1837 in Chester, PA., son of Hibbard Davis and Elizabeth Osborn. They had 3 children: Hibbard O., Helen Louise, and Jesse Fell. Helen m. Lewis Green Stevenson and had 2 children: Adlai E Stevenson II m. Elizabeth Bordon had 3 sons: Adlai Ewing Stevenson III. Bordon and John Fell. Adlai E. Stevenson II was b. 2/5/1900 and d. 7/14/1965, was governor of IL from 1949-53, American ambassador to the United Nations at the time of his death. His son Adlai III was U.S. Sentor from IL 1970-81. The first Adlai Stevenson was Vice President during Grover Cleveland's second term 1893-97. Adlai II's g-grandfather was Jesse W. Fell.

Robert Fell, b. 5/8/1813 in New Garden, Chester Co., PA., m. 9/8/1835 in West Chester, PA. to Mary Ann Woodward, b. 9/26/1810 , dau. of Abiah Woodward and Rebecca Way of Brandywine Tp., Chester Co, PA. They had 8 children: Jesse W., Rebecca W., William B, Robert , Abiah W., Mary Ann, Comly and Joshua W.

Mary Ann Fell b. 3/28/1845, m. 9/5/1865 to John Fulwiler, b. 6/17/1843 in Shippensburg, PA., son of John Fulwiler and Mary Mahoon. They had 3 children, John Walter, b. 1/10/1867; Leonard F., b. 5/26/1868 and Roberta Way b. 12/10/1870.

You would not believe all the Jesses, Roberts, Marys etc. in this family tree. Hope I've covered every thing regarding the Stevenson-Fell Connection that was in question.
