miller, nathaniel, c. (m.d.) is of english descent. the first ancestor, joh miller,lived and died in england.
sebastain miller, great-grandfather of nataniel was born feb. 6, 1758 in yorkshire, england, came to america locating first in montgomery co., moved to wilkes-barre and then to hamilton twp., monroe co. he died nov.11, 1842 while on a visit to his brother in montgomery co. he served as captain in the rev. he married susan dillion (or burdillon) the original spellinng now in doubt, a quaker, who was born in scotland and died in pa. children, ann w/o __ dungan, 1786-1865, william, 1788, charles never married, margaret, 1793-1879, unmarried,hannah, 1797, elizabeth, w/o __ houser, 1799-1870, john, 1800-1874, samuel, 1803-1855, joseph, 1805-1865, daniel, 1807-1874, violit, wf of __ kesbaugh, 1808, died in wilkes barre, 1892, sarah, wf of ezekil reemer, 1812-1888

charles miller, grandfather was born dec. 20, 1789, died march 15, 1863. he married anna catharine (fetterman), was born aug. 17, 1799, died march 26, 1875, both are buried at the hamilton ch. children; philip, sallie, 1819, married charles I miller and lived at bartonville, and lydia ann, oct 21, 1824, died may 4, 1850, unmarried
philip miller, born jan 21, 1816, he married jan. 5. 1841 to elizabeth cope, who was born march 20, 1822, died feb. 17, 1881. children, franklin, jan. 31, 1842 married lizzie slutter and had 3 children (ambrose c., norman n. and floyd c., luretta f.)nathaniel cope, jennnie, 1853, wf of f.a. norton of n.y. city and had 2 sons, howard and edward.
dr. n.c. miller was born july 25, 1848, he married april 18, 1882 to rachel kunkel and had 3 children, joseph franklin, nettie florence, estella. dr. miller had a son adin ralph by his 1st marriage.
the doctor's great-great-grandfather, balthser vetterman was born in rotterdam, holland. early in 1750 he came to america with his brothers, casper, who located in berwick, and philp who located in ohio. they landed in phila.pa., balthasar settling in upper milford, lehigh then northampton. on april 22, 1751 he married catharine margaet huft, d/o johann george and margaretha huft. balthaser and wf are buried at or near dillingersville, lehigh co. children; johann george, feb. 22, 1752, anna barbara, jan 7, 1753, johann michael, jan 9, 1755, anna mariah, 1758, johann philip, may 8, 1761, miriah salome, 1762, anna margaretha bp 1765, and johannas, born 1767
johann philp vetterman, 3rd son of balthasar. he located in montgomery co, at or near wales, where he married mary sarah, d/o abraham dannahower. he moved to lehigh co., and in 1804 he moved to hamilton twp., monroe co.
anna catharine fetherman, d/o johann philip and mary sarah (dannahower) fetherman was born aug 17, 1790 at new milford, lehigh co. she was bp. sept. 26, 1790, her godmother was anna catharine dannahower, after whom she was named. and in aug, 1815, married charles, s/o sebastian miller.
