miller, harrison, subject, of jackson twp. was born at houser mill, may 22, 1852. his grandfather was frederick miller, born and reared in jackson twp. and his great-grandfather was probably born there. the former married katie boir, d/o john. children; phenas, father of subject, hiram of iowa, timothy who died young in 1892, sarah, w/o jacob bonser, emanuel, killed in civil war, kate, w/o william custard of wilkes barre, alexander of easton, barbara, w/o john knecht of tobyhanna, and josiah of wilkes barre.
phenas miller, father, was born in jackson twp. oct 12, 1826. he married mary singer, d/o john and susie singer. he died march 27, 1858, when our subject was a child. his mother, who was born dec 30. 1823, died feb. 5, 1898. children, harrison and anna who died at 9m.
on sept. 13, 1883, at easton harrison married emma doll, who was born in jackson twp. dec 20, 1862, they had 4 children; edith, 1884, grace, 1886, leroy, 1888, frederick, 1897
mrs. miller's paternal grandfather, was jacob doll, born in monroe co, married catharine ruthstine, also a native of monrooe co, d/o frederick ruthstine. children; jacob married elisabeth hay, john married susan felker,(note from me. susan was a widow at age 25 with 2 children), frederick, father of mrs. miller, samuel married sophia boir, george married susan singer, joseph married 1st mary smoke, 2nd hannah seip, charles married hannah transue, louisa, w/o george smith, kate married james evans, sarah married joseph slutter, betsy married william bower, hannah married charles slutter and christina married robert daily.
frederick doll, mrs. miller's father, was born in jackson twp. sept 8, 1819, he married in hamilton twp. to mary miller, native of chestnut hill. mrs doll was born feb 6, 1823, died jan 20, 1899. her grandfather, jacob miller was born in pocono twp. moved to jackson twp.he married pauline kresge. mrs. frederick doll was the eldest of their children, the other being betsy, w/o joseph frantz of jackson, sally ann, w/o john felker of jackson twp, and died 1890, jacob married 1st betsy houser and 2nd sarah shoop, joshu, jonas died in the civil war, thomas, hannah, w/o william smith of newfield, n.y and barbara, lived with her sister in newfield.
