J. Wilson Vandegrift, Buckingham, was born there Jan 1, 1863, s/o Bernard and Mary Ann (Folker) Vandegrift and grandson of Lawrence Vandegrift of Northampton township, Bucks Co, where is father, Bernard was born June 30, 1829. Bernard Vandegrift died in Sept 1900, married Dec 27, 1851 to Mary Ann Folker, d/o James and Mary (Herlinger) Folker of Buckhingham, was born Aug 8, 1829. Her parents was both natives of Buckingham, her mother being the d/o Capt. Mathew Herlinger, who married the widow Else, whose husband died at sea on the voyage to America. Bernard and Mary Ann (Folker) Vandegrift had children; Harry of CO., Susanna, wife of William Orem, of Buchingham, Wilmer, of Phila., Mary, wife of William Atkinson, J. Wilson and Theodore.
