I know a little about the Felkels. They were originally settled near Orangeburg, SC (Orangeburgh District, then) and traveled to Leon County, Florida in the early-mid (?) 1800's as missionaries. Jacob Felkel from the Orangeburg/Elloree, SC area settled there and he and his wife donated the land to build the Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church on Centreville Road. (There is a large marker in the church yard stating this). There is a cemetery there and you may be able to find these particular tombstones. If not, call the church office and maybe someone has a list of the burials through the years even though the church is not being used full time now. They use it for reunions and special occasions. You can get all the census records there in Tallahassee at the county library and probate records there at the court house. There are probably Hightowers listed in the court house in some manner at that time, so you may be able to trace that way. If you ever find where the Felkels originally lived in Germany, please let me know. Thanks and good luck.
