Hello Patrick,

The earliest Feighan in Cleveland was Joseph Feighan who arrived in the mid 1860's from County Mayo. Joseph was followed by his cousin Owen Feighan, Owen was the son of Thomas Feighan and Bridget Gallagher. Joseph's parents are unknown at this time.

Joseph married Catherine O'Malley (daughter of Owen O'Malley and Bridget Unknown) and had two children, Michael and Mary. Catherine died and Joseph married Ann Higgins, daughter of Unknown Higgins and Bridget Higgins Scanlon (nee Gallagher) Joseph and Ann had a large family.

Owen Feighan married Ann Higgins cousin, Margaret Judge, Margaret passed away and he then married Mary Robinson, (Mary and Margaret are, according to family lore, sisters, Mary was married to a Robinson, and he passed away. Both are daughters of Patrick Judge and Mary Hunter.)

I have no information on Joseph or Owen's siblings, A Michael Feighan also arrives in Cleveland, He too was from County Mayo, and I don't have any siblings listed for him either, it is suspected that Michael was Joseph's older brother, but I've been unable to make a connection yet.

I hope this helps,

Ed O'Malley
