Killian Fehrenbacher was the son of George Johann Fehrenbacher and Marianna Weber, who emigrated in Dec. 1854, from Schuttertal, Gr. Killian was born in Jan about a month after they arrived in this country. The family arrived at the port of New Orleans, traveled up the Mississippi to the Ohio river and from there to St. Wendel, In. near Evansville. I was there last week. They remained in St. Wendel until 1858 when they moved to the Wendelin Clay, Co, Il. area. I have proof in the form of church records from Germany, and a Schuttertal History compiled by Gerhard Finkebeiner, a history teacher in Schuttertal, who has been a guest in our home several times. Also I have seen Killian a few times before his death in 1955.I also helped compile a history of the Wendelin Parish which was publiished in 1996. It is a 400 page hardbound book with every name index. We still have about 30 copies left and they sell for $35.00 plus shipping. You may contact me at Mimif@Shawneelink.Net Mary Fehrenbacher
