JOHN CASPER2 FEHR (HANS RUDOLF1) was born October 03, 1825 in Fluntern Zuerich, Zurich, Switzerland, and died March 11, 1896 in Nashville, Davidson Co., TN. He married (1) LOUISA BANZER May 25, 1854. He married (2) AUGUSTA A. OESER August 05, 1873 in Davidson Co., TN, daughter of AUGUST OESER and WILHEMINA. She was born Abt. 1851 in Germany, and died October 07, 1884 in Nashville, Davidson Co., TN.

JOHN FEHR was listed in Nashville City Directories in the 1850's as a Book Binder and Blank Book Manufacturer.

Children of JOHN FEHR and AUGUSTA OESER are:
       i.       JOHN C.3 FEHR, JR., b. March 1877, Nashville, Davidson Co., TN; d. December 15, 1909, Albuquerque, NM.
       ii.       GEORGE THOMAS FEHR, b. November 28, 1877, Nashville, Davidson Co., TN; m. IDA FLORENCE KAPHAN 1899, daughter of FRED KAPHAN and LAURA TONEY. She was born Abt. 1879.
       iii.       BETTY FEHR, b. December 1879; d. April 02, 1914; m. WALTER P. ECKHARDT October 03, 1900 in Davidson Co. TN.
       iv.       JULIA GARFIELD FEHR, b. June 22, 1882, Nashville, Davidson Co., TN; d. 1908, Nashville, Davidson Co., TN; m. ERNEST J. IGNATZ, September 05, 1904, Nashville, Davidson Co., TN; b. Abt. 1876, Berlin, Germany; d. January 1955, Nashville, Davidson Co., TN.

John C. Fehr Dead - Well Known Swiss Citizen Passes
Away Aged 70 years. John C. Fehr an old and well
known citizen of Nashville, died of paralysis
yesterday afternoon at his home on North Summer
Street. Mr. Fehr suffered a stroke of paralysis about
eight weeks ago from which he never recovered. He was
born in Switzerland and came to Nashville in 1848 and
engaged in the book binding business until the war.
After the war he entered the grocery business from
which he was forced to retire about two years ago on
account of old age and feeble health. His wife died
about 11 years ago. Four children survive him.

This is the 1880 census listing for the family. The youngest daughter Julia had not yet been born.
