I recently went on a tour to Germany/Switzerland hoping to find info on my greatgrandfather's fam, but unfortunately I became ill and did not get to gather any information. I doubt I will ever be able to travel there again so I would appreciate any help. My ggf was Conrad Fehr, supposedly from Bern, Switzerland near the Black Forest. He came to America around 1877. He had at least 2 other brothers who came to Amer. One or two of them started a brewery in one of the northern states while Conrad settled in Arkansas. He operated a ferry boat, was a light tender on the Mississpi River and may have farmed some. He married Ida Mae Stanley who was much younger than he. They had my gf, Joseph Ulrich Fehr and 5 other children: Anna (Annie who died a small child), Alfonsia & Johnnie (who died as youngsters in separate incidents), Albertha (Bertha)and Lydia Hellen. Aunt Hellen was much younger and is the only one still living. Can you tell me how I might find information on my ggf's parents/ancestors? Thank you, Leslie
