Hi Patricia,
I found the marriage of John Feeney and Winifred Hede in an LDS (Latter Day Saints) microfilm of the R.C. church records of Elphin diocese, County Roscommon. Unfortunately, there are no parents names listed in the marriage record. The film includes Baptisms and marriages for the Elphin parishes and there is the possibility that you might be able to find a record of Baptism for someone born in the 1847-1850 time period. The film is a little difficult to read in certain sections because of the age of the books that were filmed. Fenney is one of the names that appears in the records that were filmed. The John Feeney in my line probably is not your John, as mine married shortly before emigrating to the USA. I recently found evidence that his first child was born on the ship that brought the family over. BUT, there is very likely some connection if your Great Grandfather's sister also settled in Schuylkill County. There were several Feeney's mentioned in the Federal Census records of Schuylkill County. Do you know if your Great Aunt married in Ireland or Schuylkill County? Do you have a Latter Day Saints' Family History Center near where you live? If you do you might be able to order the Elphin Diocese film to view. I won't be able to do any research until after the start of the new year due to prior time commitments and you may want to see the film for yourself. Did you get John Feeney's name from the 1871 marriage record of your Great Grandfather? Do you know his mother's name? Keep in touch. Elizabeth
