How wonderful to hear from you. George and Rachel Jackson were my 5 great-grandparents. I had read somewhere that Rachel's last name was Nevin but could never corroborate that. Now I know why! Do you have any idea what tribe she belonged to?
You mentioned that George's grandfather also married an Indian. I have his grandfather George married to Honor (no last name). Is that correct? And you're right - it certainly would be easier with different names.
George and Rachel's daughter Jane married John Fee. One of their sons was George Jackson Fee, who married Mary Jane Porter. One of their daughters, Mary Fee, married Henry G. Knepp. Their daughter, Laura Ellen Knepp, married Mortimer Erastus Gilbert. (Maybe George isn't so bad after all.) One of their daughters, Margaret Allen Gilbert, married George Hampson Liepart. Their youngest, Laura Ellen Liepart, was my mother. Bet you're sorry you asked how I was related!
