Hi Sue, my name is Mark Fetherstone, my Great grandfather is Michael Fetherston married to Maria Tiernan!! I have just received a copy of their marriage certificate and they were indeed married at Saint Oswalds in West Derby near to where I grew up!
Maria Tiernan's father was Edward who was a "Club collector" whatever that was, I suspect it was some sort of savings club. Thomas Fetherston is down as a Tailor but that is as much as I know.Just spoken with my father and he has said to ask were you originally married into the Doyle family? and are you now married to Jim Mannion? I have very fond memories of Gerry Doyle, when I visited with my parents she made the most amazing food!
This has been a bit spooky today considering I only just had the marriage certificate in the post today! anyway hope you see this reply.
