Forgotten one the may Aunt told me and that was our surname was from The Featherstine line and they originated from Germany. Can not be one hundred percent if this is true or not. I don't know if this helps but I remember a photo of my Grandfather sitting with his father selling flowers out of the back of there truck and the tag was a New York tag in 1930.
Just going out on a limb here and remembering a friend told me that a lot of Immigration did this type of work When they came to America.
Also just remembered All Of my Aunts and Uncles were born in Atlanta.
