Mary--I'm certain you won't find any connection, because my FEARYs were immigants from the Palatine area of Germany, and before that probably Switzerland. My 3G-grandfather signed his name F-e-a-r-y, probably because it sounded that way to him, but the German spelling was likely FURRY, with an umlatt, or a variation thereof.Most FEARYS, FUHRYs and FURRYs are Irish, except in S.E. PA, where so many Swiss/Germans settled and the names FERREE, which started out as FIERRE, and the name FORREY, or the name FUHRER all took on these different spellings. Confusing, to say the least.
